I wrote an article and got published for the first time! Karli Webster appears on NBC's The Voice for the first time and the coaches love her voice!
Now, normally I'm just the video guy around the radio station. However, we were a bit short staffed at the time to try and get a story out on Karli, so I was asked to step away from my video role and into the writer role.
Writing is not unfamiliar territory for me. While I mainly focus on the visual aspect of things at the station, there have been times when I feel like a voice over might better tell the story, so I usually write a first draft of those scripts before handing it off to the writer to revise it and to make it sound more natural for their speach. Although writing a voice over script is worlds different from writing an article, it had given me a good starting point for practice.

The 20-year-old musician instantly caught the attention of coaches Adam Levine and Miley Cyrus during her rendition of “You’re So Vain” by Carly Simon. Cyrus stood and danced to the performance while the audience clapped along.
